12 photos of the stunningly beautiful seaside at Hervey Bay

I’d never been to Hervey Bay before last weekend, but I’m so glad I made the trip. The Fraser Coast is a stunning part of Queensland, I can’t wait to take the family back there.

Here are 12 of my favourite photos of the seaside at Hervey Bay.

Urangan Pier

Urangan Pier is one of the longest in Australia, stretching out 868 metres into the sea. I loved being near the pier – even on an overcast afternoon there were so many photo opportunities.

The boys off fishing on a Sunday morning

My Mavic Pro was hovering above the jetty taking photos as these boys whizzed past on their bikes with their fishing gear. It was overcast during this shot but I love the colour of the water.

Sunday morning jog on the pier

A little later, the sun had come out, creating these amazing reflections on the turquoise coloured water.

Sunday afternoon chills on the jetty at Torquay

Sunday afternoon is a great time for exploring the seashore. As well as Urangan Pier, there are a number of smaller jetties along the coast worth checking out.

Miles of beautiful beach all to yourself

When the tide goes out, go for a walk along the beach. You can splash in the shallow water, admire the shells and breathe in the sea air.

Beachcombing

I enjoyed seeing lots of people of all ages wandering out on the sands looking for shells and other interesting finds.

Urangan Pier from my hotel

I was lucky enough to stay in a beautiful room in Oceans Resort & Spa thanks to Choice Hotels Australia. Oceans Resort & Spa is right on the coast a few minutes walk from Urangan Pier and the rooms have extensive views of the bay.

Looking out to sea

The sun was behind the clouds most of the morning creating a moody sea atmosphere.

Fishing at the end of Urangan Pier

I took this long exposure shot at the end of Urangan Pier. I was able to get an exposure of a few seconds by using neutral density filters to stop the amount of light coming into the camera.

Watching the sailing boats

There were lots of sailing boats out on the bay on Sunday, as well as a triathlon taking place closer to shore.

Ice cream time

Anytime is a good time for ice cream on the beach! Check out my blog Hervey Bay: the foodie captial of the Fraser Coast for foodie adventures.

That wraps up my 12 seaside photos of Hervey Bay. What’s your favourite activity to do by the seaside?
